Why Hamburg

A Key Advantage: Hamburg’s Central Location

In the dynamic growth regions of Europe, national borders are rapidly losing their significance. Those who want to assert themselves internationally in the globalized age need to think and act on a grander scale. The Hamburg metropolitan region is the centre of Germany’s North. It comprises the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and fourteen districts of the adjoining federal states Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein, and has a total population of approximately 4.5 million.

Hamburg is situated in the centre of Europe. Berlin, the German capital, is just a 90-minute train ride away. Some 200 flights depart from Hamburg every day, bringing the world within easy reach. European centres such as Brussels, Copenhagen, London, Paris, Prague, Stockholm or St. Petersburg are about an hour away. There are daily non-stop flights to New York and Dubai – and connections from Dubai to all other Asian destinations.

In the eyes of many, Hamburg is one of the most beautiful cities anywhere – a gem among the urban centres of the world. Expanses of water and park areas provide unlimited options for recreation. Traditional Hanseatic open-mindedness and the city’s maritime atmosphere make living here especially agreeable. An attractive business environment allows companies to flourish.
